It is a term of Latin origin that could be translated with the word 'crumble'. It is now seen the link of the fregula with an ancient tradition that hides a millennial origin. It is not excluded that it may be the fruit of continuous cultural exchanges with the Phoenic, Punic and Carthaginian peoples, in reference to the culture that spread among these peoples of the so-called 'cus-cus'.
