Lutein is a powerful antioxidant from the carotenoid family and is very prevalent in the central area of the retina. As our eyes are very susceptible to free radical damage Lutein's main role as an antioxidant appears to be to protect the eyes from this damage.
Zeaxanthin is another antioxidant which works hand in hand with Lutein in the protection of the eyes.
Bilberry Extract has been used for many years to improve eye health. Rich in the flavonoid 'anthocyanoside', which is believed to be the active constituent of bilberries.
The flavonoids have also been shown to help other eye conditions. Lycopene is a red carotenoid found mainly in tomatoes, which exhibit exceptional antioxidant properties. Lycopene has been shown to protect the skin from photo-ageing as well as, in many studies protect the health of the prostate gland. As an antioxidant it helps 'mop up' cell damaging free radicals, which have a major impact on ageing, eye health, infection and prostate health.
Vision Formula combines all four of these high powered antioxidants and flavonoids with other important key antioxidants like, Zinc, Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E, as well as Selenium and B vitamins, to give an outstanding Eye Health product to protect the health of the eyes.
