The classic "Crme de Marrons de l'Ardche" recipe for chestnut spread was developed by Clment Faugier in Privas, France, in 1885. It can be consumed on its own or combined with desserts like ice cream or pancakes, or it can just be spread on toast. Additionally, it makes a terrific baking element for several puddings, like the well-known Mont Blanc cake.
