Fatty acids, sometimes referred to as vitamin F, are divided into several types, the most common of which are omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9. Fish Oil is high in omega-3. EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) have been shown to help maintain the body's immunity and are crucial in the body's production of prostaglandins (hormone-like compounds which control very cell function) and maintaining proper brain function by helping neuro-transmitter balance. EPA is also thought to be involved in maintaining a healthy cardiovascular system, joint mobility and good at helping to maintain healthy looking skin, hair and nails.
